The Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park (Parque nacional de Ordesa y Monte Perdido) was one of Spain's first protected national parks. The Monte Perdido massif (with an altitude of 3,355 m) is where the valleys of Ordesa, Pineta, Añisclo and Escuaín derive from. The area is a landscape of contrasts. The extreme aridity of the high zones, where rainwater and melted snow seep through the cracks and drains, contrasts starkly with the green valleys covered with forests and meadows where water tumbles in waterfalls from the various canyons and gorges.... read more >>>
